Storage readiness belongs before discharge.
Receiving capacity is part of the import plan. Share the product, quantity, timing and intended onward movement early so suitable arrangements can be discussed with the storage provider. Motumal coordinates storage; this does not imply ownership of tank facilities.
Customs status and physical storage are separate questions.
A customs-bonded arrangement and a duty-paid receiving arrangement have different documentation and release considerations. Physical tank availability alone does not establish the customs status of a facility. Confirm the applicable procedure and facility authorisations for the cargo.
The receiving checklist
Coordinate the following points with the relevant parties:
- Product compatibility and facility acceptance
- Expected parcel quantity and receiving capacity
- Arrival and discharge schedule
- Applicable customs status and documentation
- Quantity recording and onward release instructions
Keep the onward movement in view.
Storage is one stage of the cargo journey. Instructions for later release and delivery should align with the importer’s plan and applicable customs requirements. Confirm timing, responsibilities and commercial terms with each provider.
Questions before arrival
Does Motumal own the storage tanks?
This website makes no claim of tank ownership. Motumal’s role is to arrange or coordinate suitable storage with the relevant parties.
Can cargo simply be placed in bonded storage?
The applicable customs procedure and facility authorisation must be confirmed first. Obtain a current review for the actual shipment.
