The cargo moves as one operation.
A liquid-bulk import connects vessel arrival, customs readiness, discharge, measurement and receiving storage. A missing document can affect more than an entry: it can interrupt arrangements already made across the port. Motumal brings these dependencies into the preparation from the outset.
Before the vessel arrives
Start with the commercial transaction and the actual product. Our team reviews the documentation available, identifies gaps and coordinates the information needed for filing.
- Invoice, bill of lading and product-description consistency
- Product specifications and supporting certificates where relevant
- Classification and regulatory documentation review
- Vessel schedule, quantity and receiving arrangements
- Filing readiness and escalation of unresolved questions
At Customs and at port
We coordinate customs entry, assessment queries and examination or other regulatory interfaces where applicable. Separately, we keep vessel and receiving arrangements in view. Customs and the relevant authorities retain responsibility for their approvals and release decisions.
Discharge, measurement and release
Liquid cargo quantities may be recorded at different points in the movement. Keep commercial, shipping and receiving records aligned, and resolve discrepancies through the appropriate parties. Through the association with Bay Tankers, marine lighterage can be coordinated where the operation requires it. Storage is arranged with the relevant facility; no tank ownership is implied.
Who does what?
The importer supplies accurate commercial and product information and gives the required instructions. Motumal reviews the available information, coordinates customs documentation and follows assessment queries or examination interfaces within the agreed scope. Customs and other competent authorities make assessment and release decisions. Terminals, storage providers and carriers control their respective facilities and operations.
Where storage or lighterage is needed, Motumal can coordinate with the relevant provider. The provider confirms acceptance, suitability, availability and commercial terms for the shipment.
What shapes a quote?
A useful quotation starts with the exact product, port, mode, expected arrival, quantity, intended customs route and support needed beyond the customs entry. Motumal’s professional charges should be distinguished from duties and taxes, port and terminal charges, storage, transport, testing and other third-party costs where applicable. No universal all-inclusive charge or clearance time can be stated before the shipment is reviewed.
Prepare the first conversation
Use the liquid-bulk document checklist to assemble the commercial record, product specification and receiving plan. Then see the distinct planning considerations for base oils, edible oils and liquid chemicals.
Questions before arrival
Which liquid cargoes does Motumal handle?
The company’s published experience includes edible and inedible oils, petroleum oils and chemicals, including base oils and other liquid-bulk consignments. Confirm suitability for the specific product and port before shipment.
Can you support chartered tanker arrivals?
Motumal’s existing company website describes experience with liquid cargo imported in chartered tanker vessels at Mumbai Port and JNPT. Hazira and Dighi are also within our company-confirmed liquid-cargo service coverage. Send the cargo details and expected arrival to begin planning.
Can clearance be guaranteed within a fixed time?
No. Documentation quality, assessment, other agency requirements and port conditions all affect timing. The team focuses on preparation and coordination rather than promising a universal clearance time.
